The 2019 cricket World Cup is the 12th edition of the cricket world cup scheduled to be held from 30th May 2019 to 14th July 2019. England and Wales will host the competition while the remaining matches will take place at all over the United Kingdom. The first match of the tournament will be played at the Oval, while the final will be played at the Lords. England will open the tournament on 30th May at Oval by taking on South Africa while Australia will launch their title defense on 1st June against the ICC Qualifier Champions Afghanistan at Bristol.

Only ten teams will qualify for the ICC 2019 Cricket World Cup after a decision was taken to shrink the size of the tournament and the reduced number of teams will mean that the format will be much simpler as compared to the previous years. The format of the World Cup 2019 is very simple, there will be only one central group consisting of all 10 teams. Every team will play against each other once, which means that there will be total of 45 group matches before the final match.

The group matches will end on 06th July while the semi-finals will begin on 09th July. The quarter finals have been abolished, instead of that the top four teams will qualify directly for the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-final will qualify for the final, while the winner of the final will be declared as the World Champion.

The opening match of the World Cup 2019 will be held on 30th May at Bristol between England and South Africa while the final will be held on 14th July at Lords.India will begin their campaign against South Africa on 05th June, while the much awaited match against Pakistan will take place on 16th June in Manchester.
